Mental Models
Mental models are representations of how things work in the real world. They are meta-cognition tools that allow me to recognise situations, better understand how the world works and increase my awareness to improve my thinking. Adding several, or as many as possible, helps me increase my ability to think and recognise patterns. If you identify a mental model in action, you can have a deeper understanding of the situation. Because you already spent time thinking about it and, hopefully, linking it to an array of possibilities, challenges, solutions, etc.
