Bike-Shed Effect

A group of people working on a project will fight over the most trivial ideas. They’ll ignore what’s complicated. What is a Snippet?

A Snippet is a nugget of wisdom extracted from media I consume, it can be copied and pasted from the source, it can be distilled from it, or it can be an original. The Snippet has a "Tell me more!" link that you can use to learn more about the idea.

Story

It all started when I realised that my focus on learning and gaining knowledge was wrong. I wanted to consume more books, more podcasts, more blogs, more information. This meant that I was consuming a lot of information. However, I was not getting much out of it. It left my brain as soon as it went in. I did take notes from the books, but only reviewed them by chance. And when that happened, I was amazed at the useful ideas I forgot. I decided to build two services: one to send me a daily random snippet from the media I consumed in the past; the second one to send me two snippets that I would connect. The service will help me remembering forgotten ideas and make use of them to increase my creativity, while not becoming a chore.
